Well, Keith and Andy, my sister's boyfriend, have left for Kazakhstan. We decided I should stay home with Liam. We didn't want him be left again, even if it was for only a week. With all the date changes it is hard to believe they are finally going. Of course, there had to be a little drama the day before they left. We got an email, that they lost Taryn's passport. They, the passport people, ( I think that is the official term) finally found her passport and then they discovered her name was backwards. Our last name as her first and her first as her last. The passport had to be redone and quickly. They got it done and then if had to be registered. Due to the summit, the ministries and gov agencies were behind and slow. Now, the passport had to be expedited or we would have had to change our tickets again. Good thing we have that money tree in our back yard.
Keith and Andy took a 10pm flight and are going to Frankfurt first. This is a new flight time out of Newark and there is only a 1 hour layover in Frankfort. How great is that. Normally, it has been 6 hours and if anyone has done it, you know it is torture. Then, they will go to Astana. They had to leave a couple days early due to the flights going over are all booked. Holiday traffic. They will be in Astana a couple of days and then down to Almaty to go to the International Clinic and then the Embassy. Hopefully, if all goes well, everyone will be home for Christmas. How great is that. The best little Christmas present.
